New London ― The New London Parking Authority will offer free parking in the city’s downtown municipal parking lot for the holiday season.

Carey Redd, the city’s director of parking, said fees at the metered lot located on Eugene O’Neill Drive and Tilley Street will be waived between Friday, Nov. 25 and Jan. 1 to benefit holiday shoppers.

“The New London Parking Authority fully supports New London businesses and is happy to provide an opportunity to help holiday shoppers enjoy all that the city has to offer in the way of unique shops and eclectic restaurants,” he said.

Visitors still must obey traffic laws and will be ticketed for violations that include parking in front of curb cuts, driveways and fire hydrants.
