Make a Difference: Covenant Shelter
WHO: Five families and ten homeless individuals staying at the emergency shelter.
AGENCY: Covenant Shelter of New London, Inc.
THEIR SITUATION: Five families with children are staying at the shelter, as are 10 single men sharing the shelter’s dorm. Due to lack of affordable housing, these clients are in need of basic assistance to help them get by while the shelter helps them find stable housing. All are working or actively seeking work, and most have no reliable transportation.
WHAT TO GIVE: Small-dollar amount gas cards (Stop & Shop cards can be used for gas), small-dollar amount gift cards from Walmart, Target or other local stores, sweatshirts and sweatpants of all sizes. Also, diapers, sizes 3, 4, 5, and 6, wipes, and kids’ blankets.
