In his brilliantly written autobiography called "From Canterbury to the Ends of the Earth and Back," Steve Wibberley contradicts the idea that life happens when you are doing other things. His zest for life is inimitable, manifest in world travel, teaching, intense soul searching, and reading the Bible.

His book adds that he is frequently able to detect when the Lord uses people, places, scripture, and coincidence to guide him in his quest to share the love of Jesus.

Wibberley converts disappointment into opportunity. After being rejected by the Peace Corps and the military for having asthma, he motorcycled across country after college and began a new life teaching in an Eskimo village in Alaska. In turn, his Eskimo students and friends taught him how to hunt seals, walrus and whales.

Steve was 9 when he first opened the Bible, and in Alaska he received an education in how to apply it, including how to deal with the demonology and the occult. It was during this difficult time when Steve surrendered his life to Jesus.

Continuing with his pursuit of truth, Wibberley traveled with a group called the "Intervarsity Christian Fellowship" through European countries such as France, England, Austria, Denmark and Sweden.

It was in Wauregan where he met his German wife. They met in a ministry called His Mansion that helps young people overcome destructive behavior. Barbara worked there as the senior women's councilor, and Steve, in his spare time, taught Bible. They were married in 1974.

In 1979, Steve and Barbara left for the Middle East with their two small sons and worked in church planting. Church planting is a term that refers to the establishment of new and local Christian congregations.

Steve and Barbara knew that living in the Middle East was a risky venture, and like the apostles Steve endured persecution, slander and was arrested several times for sharing his faith in and commitment to Jesus.

It was a difficult environment with opposition from the police, society and neighbors. He was even put on trial and expelled, but returned and proceeded to share the gospel freely for a decade.

Steve and Barbara supervised believers doing the same work in numerous countries from Egypt to Albania to Pakistan to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

In 2008 the couple moved to Germany. It was necessary for him to learn the German language and he states, that "It was definitely not easy."

It was in Germany that Steve started to write. His first book, titled "Equipped: 12 Empowering Truths and How to Use Them, Be Ready for Every Day Spiritual Warfare" is a written account of how God helped him during his time spent in the Middle East. It has been translated into five languages and is changing lives around the world.

Steve Wibberley is the author of 11 books. They are available by searching S.M. Wibberley on Amazon with the exception of his autobiography that can be found by contacting Steve Wibberley by email at Stevewibb@pobox.com.
