    Griswold to hold referendum Feb. 1

    At a Special Town Meeting in Griswold on Jan. 17, town voters elected to send to referendum a proposal to replace the current athletic field and track at Griswold High School with a turf multipurpose field and eight-lane track, including new lighting and scoreboard.

    The $3.8 million cost is slated to be bonded over a 10- to 15-year term, determined by the Board of Finance.

    The referendum, with a question asking whether to approve or not approve funding for this project has been set from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Griswold Town Hall at 28 Main St., Jewett City.
