HUD invites landlords to a virtual symposium

The Connecticut field office for the Department of Housing and Urban Development invites landlords to take part in a virtual symposium Jan. 25.

At the present time, the state is experiencing a housing shortage, and as a result, recent reports indicate that almost half of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) subsidies issued to vulnerable families in the state are not being used, according to a news release.

The meeting will be on Microsoft Teams from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is designed for new and existing property owners who have questions or need a refresher on the HCV Program from HUD and local Housing Authority staff.

Topics will include information on landlord and tenant roles and responsibilities, rent approvals, program flexibility, inspections, landlord rights and more. The session will also have time set aside for questions.
