    Groton Democratic Town Committee seeks residents interested in running for office

    Groton ― The Groton Democratic Town Committee will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22 at the Thrive 55+ Active Living Center (Groton Senior Center).

    Any registered Democratic voter living in the Town or City of Groton can attend.

    “The Committee is beginning the process of looking for residents of Groton (Town AND City) who might be interested in running for election in November to the Board of Education, the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) or the Town Council,” the release added. “Applicants must be a resident of Groton and a registered voter. Anyone interested in getting involved as a Democrat in Groton Town Government, may attend the meeting or call or email the Chair, Natalie Billing or the Vice Chair, Dan Gaiewski.     Volunteers also are needed to fill positions on town boards and commissions, including the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Planning and Zoning Commission and many others. Information is available from the Town Clerk’s office and on the town’s website.

    The committee meets from 7 to 8 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
