    A stormy walk

Karah Morton and her son Phinn, 5, of Simsbury, hold hands as they watch the surf break along the rocks at DuBois Beach in Stonington Monday, March 13, 2023. The family was in the area to celebrate Phinn’s birthday and visited the Mystic Aquarium and stopped for pizza as well. “We hadn’t seen the ocean here yet,” said Karah. “It doesn’t matter if it’s raining, that was his big request.” The rest of the family watched from the car as the two walked along the rocks. The National Weather Service says a storm is supposed to begin late Monday and last into Wednesday bringing a mix of rain and snow to southeastern Connecticut and higher amounts of snow to other areas of the state.
