Montville Conservation Commission to host Native American stonework presentation

Montville ― The Conservation Commission is hosting a presentation on Native American ceremonial stonework in the region on April 4 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall council chambers

Markham Starr, the author of “Ceremonial Stonework: The Enduring Native American Presence on the Land,” will give a slide show presentation of his book.

Starr took photos of more than 10,000 objects and ceremonial sites in Connecticut and Rhode Island that were left behind by the indigenous populations that occupied the area for 12,000 years.
