    Saturday is hazardous waste drop-off day in Stonington

    Stonington ― A drop-off event for household hazardous waste will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Stonington High School, located at 176 S. Broad Street.

    In addition to household hazardous materials, such as paint thinners, old gasoline, light bulbs, nail polish remover, and pool chemicals, residents also can bring papers, such tax, financial or personal documents, for shredding.

    The Southeastern Connecticut Regional Resources Recovery Authority holds 9 household hazardous collection events which are open to any household from participating communities that include Bozrah, Colchester, East Haddam, East Lyme, Franklin, Griswold, Groton, Lebanon, Ledyard, Lisbon, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Norwich, Preston, Salem, Sterling, Stonington, Sprague, Voluntown and Waterford.
