Foxwoods to open new gaming area Aug. 29

Mashantucket ― Foxwoods Resort Casino announced Wednesday it will open a new gaming area Tuesday, Aug. 29 on the casino’s Grand Pequot Concourse.

Dubbed “Pequot Woodlands Casino,” the more than 50,000-square-foot area will include more than 430 slot machines, a 40-seat slots bar called “Truth Searcher,” 24 table games, a high-limit slots room with 130 machines and a public bar.

“We are proud to open our Pequot Woodlands Casino, one of the most significant property updates we have made in recent years,” Jason Guyot, Foxwoods’ president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “This incredible achievement speaks volumes about Foxwoods’ growth and innovation over the past year, as we continue to focus on offering our guests world-class amenities.”

The new area has an elevated, modern look that incorporates Pequot-inspired designs and symbols, creating a forest-like atmosphere. The décor features wood-wrapped pillars, cloud-like structures, and a custom-designed carpet that mimics light refracting through trees. Custom chandeliers and clouds encircle the area.
