A 30-year-old Norwich man suffered serious injuries Saturday morning after his scooter struck a vehicle in Mansfield, state police said.

Police said Hector Colon, of 99 Cedar St., Apt. D-57, was traveling south on Storrs Road/Route 95 on a 2022 BWS Ascend gas scooter at approximately 10 a.m. when he struck the driver’s side door of an Audi Q7 driven by 21-year-old Mansfield resident Xintao Sun, who was making a left turn onto the road.

Police said Colon was transported by medical helicopter to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries.

No other information was immediately available.
