    Regulators renew Mohegan Pennsylvania’s license

Mohegan Pennsylvania, the Mohegan-owned horse track casino near Wilkes-Barre, Pa., has had its license renewed for five years.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board voted unanimously Wednesday to renew the license following a process in which the casino operator and the public provided information. The board also received input from government officials, community groups and the Pennsylvania State Police.

From its opening in November 2006 through December 2023, Mohegan Pennsylvania generated more than $4 billion in gross revenue from slot machines, table games, sports wagering and online gaming, and returned to the state a total of $2.1 billion in tax revenue, assessments and fees, the board reported.

Mohegan Pennsylvania currently operates 1,630 slot machines and 67 table games and employs 891 people.
