Norwich ― Anthony Johnson and Jeffrey Presima didn’t allow the cold and wind to keep them from fishing for trout and yellow perch Friday morning at Spaulding Pond in Mohegan Park in Norwich.

Johnson said he is used to fishing with his dad in snow storms catching blue fish, so the weather did not bother him. Presima mentioned trout are more active in cold water.

The two men, who said they’re tradesmen, were smiling as they stood together by the pond, though they hadn’t yet caught any fish.
