Submarine base announces scheduled power outages for micro-grid testing

Groton ― The Naval Submarine Base has announced a scheduled power outage, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, for the testing and commissioning of the submarine base’s micro-grid system.

“BASE visitors and tenants may experience between 4-8 individual outages during this timeframe,” the submarine base said in an announcement posted on social media.

“This Micro-grid commissioning will increase the SUBASE New London electrical resilience, allowing for better service to both SUBASE Sailors and submarines,” the base said.
