Local roundup: Black Wolves trade Powless

Mohegan — The New England Black Wolves traded Johnny Powless to the Calgary Roughnecks as part of a three-team deal, the team announced Monday.

In exchange, the Black Wolves received a second-round pick in the 2019 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft and a fourth-round pick in 2020. Calgary followed by trading Powless to the Toronto Rock in exchange for Dan Taylor.

Acquired in a trade in February from the Georgia Swarm, Powless had 17 points on eight goals and nine assists in 10 games for New England. He also scooped up 18 loose balls.

New England finished 9-9 during the 2017-18 regular season and was eliminated in the East Division semifinals at Rochester.
