    Local roundup: East Lyme volleyball team beats rival Fitch 3-1

    Groton — Sydney Iannantuono had 17 kills and eight digs as East Lyme outlasted rival Fitch 3-1 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I volleyball match on Monday.

    Game scores were 25-20, 25-22, 15-25 and 25-23.

    Sophie Dubreuil added 20 digs for the Vikings (5-1, 1-1) while Mya Delesdernier had 13 kills and Kamryn Ebersole 22 assists.

    Olivia Carney paced the Falcons (3-1, 0-1) with 14 assists while Nora Ryan, Maryah Dart and Nyseannah Ishmael had five kills apiece.

    In other matches:

    • Montville dropped the first set before rallying for a 3-1 win over Ledyard (1-3). Game scores were 25-27, 25-18, 25-21 and 25-21. Abby Diamantini led the Indians (4-1) with 11 digs and six aces while Mackenzie Ullrich had five assists, six digs and seven aces, Haley Kerwin added three kills and five digs and Maya Hillman had four kills and eight blocks. Ledyard's Katie Krupansky had nine service points, Morgan Riewerts had 12 assists and two aces, and Miranda Chenut added nine kills and seven digs.

    • Cromwell defeated New London 25-21, 25-21 and 25-8 in a non-conference match. Caylee Parker had 17 service points four blocks and two kills for the Whalers (0-3) while Chaylet Cintron added eight service points, five digs and eight assists, Marissa Parker had eight digs, two kills and two blocks, Natalia Paul had six service points and four digs and Wennonah Amar had 10 assists and five digs.

    • Goodwin Tech defeated Grasso Tech 25-19, 25-10 and 25-13 in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Michelle Warren had 16 digs for the Eagles while Samarie Delgado added three aces, three kills, four digs and one block.

    • Prince Tech rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Norwich Tech 3-2 in the CTC. Game scores were 24-26, 24-26, 25-21, 25-15 and 15-6. Riley Riewerts had 14 kills and seven assists for the Warriors (1-4, 1-1) while Amay Mendez added eight kills and 16 assists and Kellsey Gumbs had eight digs.

    • Ryleigh Gonyo had eight kills and five aces to power Waterford past Plainfield, 25-12, 25-18 and 25-23. Jenny Keith had 15 digs and Gretchen Dusza added 18 assists for the Lancers (2-2).

    • Emily Evers chipped in six digs and eight service points for Old Lyme in a Shoreline Conference loss to Valley Regional, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-21. Chandler Munson had three kills and two blocks for the Wildcats (0-5).

    H.S. boys' soccer

    • Fitch remained unbeaten in ECC Division I play with a 1-0 victory over East Lyme. Seamus Greaves, assisted by Owen Henderson, scored the lone goal for the Falcons (4-1-1, 2-0) in the first half and goalie Ramiro Zavala made six saves to earn the shutout. East Lyme is 4-1, 0-2.

    • R.J. Parrilla scored a first-half goal and set up Graham Johnstone's second-half goal to lift unbeaten Stonington past Norwich Free Academy 2-0 in ECC Division I play. Jamison Magowan added an assist and goalie Peter Fernholz made two saves for the Bears (5-0, 2-0). The Wildcats fell to 1-4. 0-2.

    • Bowen Baker had a goal, an assist and five saves as Wheeler downed Plainfield 3-0 in an ECC Division IV game. Ian Spracklin had a goal and an assist for the Lions (2-1, 2-0) and Scott Pion scored. Joey Calario had seven saves for the Panthers (3-2, 0-2).

    • Daimon Pollard had two goals and an assist as Ledyard blanked New London 6-0 in an ECC Division II game. Eduardo Frias, Ian Kamperschroer, Joey Burton and Fabian May all scored for the Colonels (3-1, 2-0) and Cole Dirico, Nick Washington and Adam Crawford each had an assist. Giuseppe Conte had 11 saves for the Whalers (0-4, 0-2).

    • Shane Sutton and Tenzin Jamphel scored two goals apiece as St. Bernard cruised to a 5-0 win over Tourtellotte in an ECC Division IV match. John Tischio also scored for the Saints (2-1, 1-1) while goalie Martin Arvidson made five saves.

    • Windham scored four first-half goals and went on to beat Montville 5-1 in ECC Division III action. Alphonso Vazquez had three goals for Windham (3-1, 1-1) while Tyler Velazquez converted a penalty kick for Montville (3-1, 1-0).

    • Cole Gustavsen had a goal and an assist to lift Bacon Academy to a 3-0 victory over Waterford in an ECC Division II game. Waterford is 0-3, 0-2.

    • Jack Colella converted a Noah Worman corner kick in the second half to give Old Saybrook a 1-0 win over rival Old Lyme in the Shoreline Conference. Ryan Tetreault made two saves in goal for the Wildcats (1-3). Old Saybrook is 2-1.

    H.S. girls' soccer

    • Emilia Skrabacz scored the first of her two goals in the second minute of the game as New London shut out Grasso Tech 5-0. Bria Fielding, Emily Fielding and Cassandra Roman also scored goals for the Whalers (2-2) with Bria Fielding assisted on a goal by her sister Emily, a freshman. Dinorah Cruz had 17 saves for the Eagles (0-2).

    Women's soccer

    • Jacquelyn White scored a pair of goals as Mitchell College won its first game with a 3-0 non-conference victory over Anna Maria. NFA graduate Yasmine Mai Le also scored for the Mariners (1-5) while goalie Drew Johndrow made five saves for her first career shutout.
