The Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton has been honored by Meetings Focus East magazine as a "Best of the East" property in the eastern United States and eastern Canada.

The hotel was one of only 50 properties in the eastern region selected for the award. The 285-room Mystic Marriott is managed by Waterford Hotel Group Inc., a national hotel and convention center management firm.

The hotel was chosen by the readers of Meetings Focus East as a "Best of the East" property based on a variety of factors, including the quality of its meeting space, its guest rooms, its staff and its overall service.

Farouk Rajab, general manager for the hotel, said the award "is a true testament to the dedication of our team to providing our guests with the highest level of quality service."
