Lisa Konicki has been named Chamber Executive of the Year for New England by the New England Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

Konicki, the executive director of the Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce, was unanimously selected by a committee of her peers from five states to earn the top honor.

Konicki has 18 years of chamber experience. She was hired as executive director of the greater Westerly chamber in 1995 at the age of 29, one of the youngest chamber executives in New England at the time.

The chamber had 420 members when she joined and after six months grew to 573 members. The membership has steadily grown to the 850 to 950 range.

Konicki was nominated for the top award by Roy Nascimento, president of the New England-wide chamber association.
