Amarin names new director

Amarin Corp. plc, with R&D headquarters in Groton, announced this week the appointment of pharmaceutical executive David Stack to its board of directors.

The appointment was effective Dec. 10.

Stack will receive an annual fee of $40,000 and the option to purchase 45,000 shares of Amarin stock.

Stack is president, chief executive and director of Pacira Pharmaceuticals and a managing director at MPM Capital. In addition, he is founding partner of Stack Pharmaceuticals Inc. and from 2001 to 2004 served as president, chief executive and director of The Medicines Company.

Stack also is a director at Medivo Inc. and PepTx Inc.
