Randall Realtors reported Wednesday that April saw a dramatic rise in the number of homes placed up for sale in the region after months of shrinking inventory.

New London County homes on the market grew from 1,734 in March to 1,959 last month, according to Randall.

Last month, 177 single-family homes were sold in New London County, compared with 154 for the same month a year ago. There were another 364 pending sales, compared with 303 a year ago.

It took only 98 days on average to sell a home last month, significantly faster than the 132-day average of sales in March.
