Grocery store will replace Tri-Town in Montville

Montville – A new grocery store will soon be replacing Tri-Town Foods in Uncasville, according to the company’s vice president, Kevin Brouillard.

Brouillard and Mayor Ronald McDaniel said another company will move into the space at 601 Norwich-New London Turnpike.

Brouillard would not name the company that is taking the space.

The new owners will “re-merchandise” the store and work with a different wholesaler, so Tri-Town is having inventory liquidation sales this week and next, said Brouillard.

Tri-Town employees will be interviewed next week for positions with the new company, he said.

Tri-Town is one of only two major supermarkets in town. The other is a Stop & Shop located in the Montville Commons plaza.
