The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut is holding a Political Candidate Academy for anyone interested in running for an elected position this fall. The program will take place from 5:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 22 and Monday, June 26, and attendance at both sessions is required.

The Thursday session will cover topics such as the basics of public service, the endorsement process, and encouraging voter turnout. The Monday session will cover campaign strategy and communications and best practices for serving as an elected official.

Chamber president Tony Sheridan, former two-time First Selectman of Waterford, said in a release that the Chamber is proud to provide the training opportunity for citizens interested in supporting and serving their communities.
