    Beattie - Taylor

    Julie Vanessa Taylor wed Samuel Spencer Beattie on May 24, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Stonington. The bride is the daughter of Chris and Bill Taylor of Stonington. The groom is the son of Martha and Jim Beattie of Hanover, N.H.

    The Rev. Alfred Tisdale Jr. officiated the ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Mystic Seaport's Latitude 41. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father to the tune of Pachelbel's Canon, while the bride's close childhood friend, Katie Roy, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nell and Sarah Beattie, sisters of the groom, Susie Svendsgaard, cousin of the bride, and college friends Jessica Wirth and Carly Postal. The groom's cousin and best friend, Ben Fierce, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Erik Alexander, cousin of the bride, and Brian Emery, Matthew London and Gardner Gould, all good friends of the groom.

    The couple kicked off the reception with a first dance to Natalie Cole's "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)", as performed by the band, Search Party, of Boston. The bride wore a custom gown from Melissa Ashley Bridal, located in Westerly.

    The bride, a 2006 graduate from Stonington High School, holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Stonehill College and is currently an office manager at ShopRunner in the San Francisco Bay area. The groom, a 2003 graduate from The Philips Academy in Andover, Mass., holds a bachelor's degree in English from Dartmouth College and is living his childhood dream of designing video games at Storm8 in San Francisco.

    The couple resides in San Mateo, Calif. They are planning a mini-moon to Port Townsend, Wash., and a March honeymoon to Hawaii.
