Harry and Ellen (Harris) Lakowsky celebrated 70 years of marriage on Sept. 20, 2017. Married in 1947, at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea in New London, the Lakowskys have made their home in Uncasville for most of their marriage.

Active members of St. John’s Church in Uncasville, St. Bernard High School, the Knights of Columbus, the Rosary Altar Society, and the Democratic Town Committee of Montville, the Lakowskys have dedicated their life to family, faith and community.

Their 15 children and their spouses, Richard, Gary (Nancy), Gale Watson (Rod), Robert (Gwen), Kathryn Donis (Antonio), Cynthia Jackson (Todd), Cheryl Laffey (Dave), Thomas, Sally Lewis (Micky), Diane Barlow (William), Donald (Margaret), Debra Bridgham (George), Mary Lakowsky (Francie Hansen), Nancy Jarvis and Karen Ennis (Kevin) have blessed them with a lifetime of love, laughter and memories. Their 41 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren bring them endless pride and joy.

Friends and family gathered at Tony D’s in New London on Sept. 24 to celebrate seven decades of love and commitment to each other and their family.
