The children of Jim and Adele (Munson) McGuire happily announce the celebration of 60 blissful years of their parents’ marriage Aug. 29, 2019. Jim and Adele were married at St. James Church in Rocky Hill Aug. 29, 1959 and went on to raise five wonderful daughters, Michelle McGuire of Wimauma, Fla., Martha McGuire of Noank, Kathleen Fratus of Griswold, Karen McGuire-Dole of Groton, and Laura Cochran of Pawcatuck. They have been blessed with ten grandchildren residing in Connecticut and North Carolina, and thirteen great-grandchildren all residing in Southeastern Connecticut.

Both retired teachers, Jim from Ledyard High School and Adele from Noank Baptist Church Nursery School, they have gone on to work at the Mystic Seaport in their retirement. They enjoy a beautiful life surrounded by family and friends in Noank, where they are avid sailors, members of the Ram Island Yacht Club, and active members of St. Mary’s Church in Groton. Although they have traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad, they are happiest at a Friday Night family dinner or one of the numerous McGuire celebrations.
