Old Lyme man elected New London County commandant for Marine Corps League Department

Groton — The Marine Corps League Department of Connecticut held its state convention this month in Groton. The event was hosted by Thames River Detachment No. 1334.　

At the convention, Tom Peters of Old Lyme was elected New London County commandant. Peters previously held the positions of commandant and paymaster/adjutant for the detachment.

The detachment meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Montville Veterans of Foreign Wars post on Raymond Hill Road at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in joining should contact Tom Taylor at (860)334-1195 or
