    Class graduate from submarine school

    Groton — Four classes recently graduated from the Naval Submarine School.

    Sixty-four sailors, “Class 12300,” USS Sunfish (SSN-649), graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School June 29.

    Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Fuels Second Class Cody Baker was the class honorman. Seaman Nicholas Bylotas received the Core Values Award for best exemplifying the standards and expectations of a Navy sailor. Seaman Recruit Robert George was meritoriously advanced and Aviation Electronics Technician First Class Sean Anderson, the class leader, received the Heritage Award.

    Engineman Second Class Justin Ipson, Logistics Specialist First Class William Ivie, Seaman Recruit Wade Croteau, Seaman Nikolas Nichols, Logistics Specialist First Class Jeffrey Williams, Seaman Apprentice Armando Valdez, Machinist’s Mate Second Class Jens Moren, Seaman Recruit Ty Andrews, Seaman Jonathan Skurnick, Logistics Specialist Second Class Allen Conrey, Aviation Electrician’s Mate Second Class Randal Dueno, Sonar Technician Surface Second Class Christopher Parks, Seaman Joshua Lindsay, Seaman Adam Domarew, Machinist’s Mate First Class Clayton Malaney, Machinist’s Mate Second Class James Nethery, Gas Turbine System Technician Mechanical Second Class Toby Boyd, Gunner’s Mate First Class Derek Gilbert, Seaman Andrew Antes, Seaman John Mallow and Electronics Technician First Class Michael Sosa were graduates with distinction.

    Thirty-four sailors of “Class 12070” graduated from the Submarine Electronics Computer Field, Apprentice course on June 28.

    Seaman Apprentice Nathanial Rambaud, Sonar Technician Seaman William Cummins and Fire Control Technician Seaman Craig Broulik were class honormen. Seaman Apprentice Sean Vanausdal, Seaman Daniel Bautista and Seaman Stephen Hopwood received personal excellence awards and were named graduates with distinction. Rambaud and Seaman Apprentice Cory Welch were meritoriously advanced.

    Twenty-one members of “Class 12020” graduated from the Submarine Officer Advanced Course June 29.

    Class Honor Graduate Lt. Kyle Calton received the L. Y. Spear Award. Lt. Emil D’Innocenzo received the David Lloyd Award for Excellence. Lt. John Smith received the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Award. Calton and Lt. Donavan Ayer were named graduates with distinction. Lt. Michael Furlan received the SOAC Outstanding Instructor Award.

    Nine sailors of “Class 12070” graduated from Machinist Mate (Weapons) ‘A’ School on July 6. Fireman Mark Yentzer received the Torpedoman Plaque as class honorman. Yentzer was meritoriously advanced.
