Mystic — The Veterans of Foreign Wars Hugo A. Simonelli Post 3263 has planned several events for August.

The post, at 60 Stonington Road, will hold its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. Aug. 10. A V-J Day Remembrance Service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 14. The public is invited.

The Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 12. They will host their annual Potluck Dinner that night.

The Men’s Auxiliary meets at 6 p.m., the first Thursday of the month. They will host the Mystic VFW Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 17. Items can be dropped off from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Aug. 13 to Aug. 16, at the VFW Post on Route 1, across from Big Y. Major appliances will not be accepted.

There will be an advance sale, 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16. Admission is $5. Purchased items must be taken that night.
