Nine graduate from weapons school at submarine base

Groton — Nine sailors of class 16085 graduated from machinist mate (weapons) "A" school on Nov. 10.
Petty Officer 1st Class Ian Layton was class instructor. Petty Officer 2nd Class Jalissa Thornton received the Torpedoman Plaque as class honorman.
This 10-week program provides basic knowledge and skills at the entry level in the MM (submarines) rating in mechanical skills, 3-inch launcher operation, explosives, torpedo tubes and MK 48 ADCAP torpedoes and Tomahawk cruise missiles.
