    USS Triton Class joins the fleet

    Groton — Fifty-eight sailors of "Class 17380," USS Triton, graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School on Aug. 18.

    Seaman Recruit Josue Amaya was class honor graduate and continues in apprentice team training.

    Seaman Daniel Riedlinger was recipient of the Submarine Heritage Award and Seaman Apprentice Joseph Rasch received the Navy Core Values Award. Both join Amaya in apprentice team training.

    Fireman Apprentice Evan Sterry, Seaman Recruit James Padilla, Seaman Stephen Ball, Seaman Apprentice Tuiletuli Fua, and Electrician's Mate, Nuclear Power 3rd Class Elliott Linder were graduates with distinction.

    Basic Enlisted Submarine School is a six-week introduction to the basic theory, construction and operation of nuclear-powered submarines. In preparation for an assignment, sailors receive instruction on shipboard organization, submarine safety and escape procedures.
