Paddington 2

This movie is such a pleasure, and it’s a children’s movie that adults can love, too. The youngsters will be enamored of the kindly, adorable Paddington (voiced perfectly by Ben Whishaw). The grownups will giggle at Hugh Grant’s hilarious take on a supremely vain actor (he’s the villain here) and at Brendan Gleeson’s fearsome prison cook Knuckles McGinty — whose hard heart, naturally, Paddington melts. Prison? Yes. Paddington ends up there after being set up by Grant, but it’s all as gentle and reassuring and amiably comic as you’d expect a Paddington experience to be.
