Liza Minnelli performs at MGM Grand at Foxwoods

What's a little broken wrist when you're Liza "I Survived David Gest" Minnelli?

The star was injured while rehearsing in mid-October. But that didn't prevent her from giving a concert the following night with her sister, Lorna Luft. The show benefited The Actors Fund's Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative and Tower Cancer Research Foundation's Dr. Philomena McAndrew.

According to Minnelli's website, her doctors "pleaded with her to stay at the hospital" with her broken-in-three-places wrist. But she wouldn't hear of it. The event was hosted by Luft, who has battled breast cancer.

Backstage, Minnelli said, "Nothing was going to stop me from coming here tonight. Lorna asked me to be here and I wouldn't let her down."

And then, after the show, she did what doctors wanted and returned to the hospital.

So will she be wearing a cast when she sings Friday at MGM Grand at Foxwoods? Will she don a sling that's as blinged out as Mariah Carey's was when she injured her shoulder? We'll see. What you can definitely bet on is Minnelli will sing "Cabaret" and "New York, New York."
