Swedish EDM duo Dada Life entertain Wednesday at Shrine

Ollee Corneer and Stefan Engblom of Dada Life. (James Foster, Sun-Times Media)

If you're not a true fan, you probably don't understand how many subtle differences there are in the approximately 13,704 types of EDM. Maybe you don't even know that EDM stands for Electronic Dance Music — and if you've never scarfed some X, hit a club or rave and bounced around like the Energizer Werewolf until dawn, we get that.

It's never too late to get into it, though as a responsible news source, we must counsel that you can leave the dope out of the equation and still have fun.

For example, Dada Life — the Swedish EDM team of Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom — will unleash their dueling turntables Wednesday at Shrine in Foxwoods. In addition to their seriously infectious grooves, the duo throws a genuinely amusing twist to their work as evidenced by such tunes as "So You Wanna Be a Prankster" and "Don't Snort the Yellow Snow" (bonus points to Dada Life for the sly wink to Frank Zappa).

Should be an excellent New Year's Eve Eve.

    Dada Life, 9 p.m. Wednesday, Shrine, Foxwoods; $20; 1-800-200-2882.
