Ramblin' Dan Stevens and Clayton Allen serve up blues for lunch

Ramblin' Dan Stevens has long established himself as a regional and national treasure in the hallowed field of solo acoustic blues. His technique, scholarship and creativity all celebrate an obvious affection for the revered, Delta-steeped musical art.

In the last year or so, though, Stevens has begun performing with other musicians.

Most notably, Stevens partnered with fellow guitarist/vocalist Clayton Allen — and the duo won a Connecticut Blues Society Challenge Competition and represented all of us Nutmeggers at the nationals in Memphis in January.

Now, Stevens and Allen will bring a full band — keys, bass, drums, et al — to New London for a performance Thursday in the latest episosode of The Day's "Live Lunch Break" concert series in the Hygienic Art Park. It should be a nice day for passionate blues after all this brutal weather and, yes, Parade Café will be on hand to supply savories.

Live Lunch Break, noon Thursday, Hygienic Art Park, 79 Bank St., New London; free; theday.com/livelunch.
