Duke Robillard brings in New Year Sunday at the Knick
There are countless law suits being filed across the country with the U.S. Department of Fun. Why? Because New Year's Eve — traditionally a night when we can all act like werewolves — takes place on a Sunday. And partying on a Sunday just naturally has a bad vibe, even if the next day's a holiday.
The folks at the Knickerbocker Music Center in Westerly are doing their best to combat this doomed spirit. The Duke Robillard Band will perform on New Year's Eve and, as we all know, the Great Man has the six-string power to heighten the mood and energy any time he flips his amplifier to the ON position.
Word is that the U.S. Department of Fun will have reps at the Knick to prove it IS possible to have a great New Year's Eve on a Sunday. All thanks to Duke!
Duke Robillard Band, 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Knickerbocker Music Center, 35 Railroad Ave., Westerly; $20; (401) 315-5070.
