Brett Eldredge headlines Mohegan Sun Arena concert

    Brett Eldredge (Amy Harris, Invision/AP)

Brett Eldredge has taken the close-but-oh-so-far journey that many stars have travelled at Mohegan Sun. They have started out playing the small, free-admission Wolf Den. They then make it to the 10,000-seat Arena as an opening act. And eventually they get big enough to headline their very own Arena show.

And that gig headlining the Arena? Country star Eldredge is doing his on Saturday.

Eldredge has enjoyed a rush of success the past six years, kicking off with the hit singles “Don’t Ya” and “Beat of the Music” from his debut album “Bring You Back.” He followed that up with the CD “Illinois,” which spawned “Wanna Be That Song,” “Lose My Mind” and “Drunk on Your Love.” Last year, his self-titled album highlighted singles including “The Long Way.”

Eldredge’s music has skewed a little more pop and rock over time, but his voice has remained the same, with its bluesy emotionality and husky tone. He puts on a very enjoyable concert, so, fans, get to the Sun on Saturday.

Brett Eldredge, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Mohegan Sun Arena; with Devin Dawson and Jillian Jacqueline; $24-$45; 1-800-745-3000.
