Maybe because so many musicians have such a long fight to get enough acceptance to "make a living" at their art that they're relentlessly positive people.

(Well, not so much the death metallers.)

    G. Love & Special Sauce, for example, typify the good vibes approach. G. Love NEVER gets sad or depressed — and his songs are aren't just catchy and clever amalgams of blues and funk, they're always cheery and encouraging us to fight the good fight. Maybe that's what in his Secret Sauce! Optimism!

His newest album, called "The Juice," is due any moment as I write this, and an advance listen to the title track and "Shake Your Hair" reveal beat-happy, lyrically clever numbers that should blow the walls down at festivals — or, for that matter, at the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den on Saturday, when G. Love & Special Sauce play a free show. "The Juice" should be out by then, so this is a great opportunity to see and hear the new material live.
