UPDATED: University of Oklahoma: No evidence of shots fired

Students crowd the corner of Asp Avenue and Lindsey Street outside the school stadium on the University of Oklahoma's campus in Norman, Okla. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014. Reports of shots fired at the University of Oklahoma's architecture school prompted a brief lockdown Wednesday, but officials said no evidence of a shooting had been found as authorities continued to sweep the building.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The University of Oklahoma says authorities have found no evidence of shots being fired on campus and no injuries have been reported.

University spokeswoman Catherine Bishop says in a statement that normal campus operations have resumed except for Gould Hall, where additional checking is continuing Wednesday.

The school posted a notice on its website Wednesday that people should avoid Gould Hall. A notice sent by its Twitter account said: "Seek immediate shelter in place."

The university is located in Norman, about 20 miles south of Oklahoma City.
