Old Lyme - Jonathan Peter Buroff, age 23, died May 25, 2009, in Montgomery, Vt., as a result of injuries from motorcycle accident.Jonathan was a 2004 graduate of Old Lyme High School and earned an AS in Marine Technologies from NEIT in 2006. He was an avid outdoor sportsman skilled in sailing, fishing and snowboarding. Jon was entering his senior year at Johnson State College as a Business Management major and was in process of completing a summer internship at Smuggler's Notch resort.Jonathan had been living in Vermont for the past 10 months and had reveled in the excitement of hiking and climbing the Green Mountains.He is survived by his parents Kathryn and Alan, two younger siblings, Andrea and Todd of Old Lyme and his older sister, Karen, of Highland Park, N.J.Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Lane, Old Lyme. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, at Grace Episcopal Church, 336 Main St., Old Saybrook, followed by burial at Duck River Cemetery, Old Lyme.In lieu of flowers, a donations may be made in his memory to the Montgomery Volunteer Ambulance Association or Old Lyme Volunteer Fire Department.
