Eva Engert Strilbyckij, 83, of East Haven, died on Sept. 18. She was the wife of the late Simon Strilbyckij and the daughter of the late Josef and Maria Hajer Engert.

She is survived by five children, Anna and Joseph Strilbyckij, both of East Haven, Veronica Cardinale and her husband Dr. Frank Cardinale of Guilford, Matthias Strilbyckij and his wife Patricia of Guilford, and Hans Strilbyckij and his wife Elizabeth of North Haven. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Erica and Adam Strilbyckij and Lera and Alex Cardinale; a sister, Maria Weber of Germany; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two siblings, Kati Czuczman and Matthias Engert.

Her funeral procession will leave the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80), East Haven, on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 9 a.m.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:30 a.m., followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery.  Sign Eva's guestbook online at www.portofuneralhomes.net.
