Dolores (Mas) Mack, 90, a long time Hamden resident, died Dec. 11 at the Arden House in Hamden after a brief illness. She was the wife of 45 years to Thomas R. Mack. Mrs. Mack was born on April 4, 1921 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Fernando and Dolores (Bordes) Mas. A graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, New York, she had worked for the U.S. Government Office of Censorship and was their youngest employee from 1940 to1945. She also held various other jobs after raising her two daughters, one being a regional manager for Field Enterprises Educational Corporation, which produced The World Books, where her region consisted of over 200 people. After her retirement, she continued studying at Southern Connecticut State University where she graduated magna cum laude.

Dolores put immeasurable love and energy into raising her family, and her family was the most important thing in her life. She loved her husband, her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with great affection and was the matriarch of the family.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Cavalieri of Killingworth and Dolores Paddock and her husband Glenn of Cheshire; her four grandchildren, Michael Arsenault, Justin Hancort, Stephanie Swabski, and Alexandra Paddock; and four great-grandchildren, Samantha, Edward, and Mia Swabski, and Emily Arsenault.

Her funeral procession will leave the Casey-O’Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St., Waterbury, on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m., for a mass of Christian burial at SS Peter & Paul Church, 55 Southmayd Rd., Waterbury at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
