    Raymond J. “Rainbow” Popolizio, 74, New Haven

    Raymond J. “Rainbow” Popolizio, 74, of New Haven, died June 21at his home.  He was born in New Haven on Aug. 21, 1937, son of the late Frank and Mary Martin Popolizio. Raymond had worked as a machinist for Sandvik, Inc. for many years.  He was an avid New York Yankees fan. In addition, he was a member of the Marchegiana Club in New Haven and the Men’s Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Raymond was much loved and will be greatly missed.

    He is survived by his daughter, Roxann Ames and her husband Christopher of Wallingford; four grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Jessica, and Christopher, Jr.; his sister, Marilyn Campbell and her husband Frank of Northford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Hanley, and a brother, Leonard Popolizio. www.wsclancy.com.

    Friends may call on Monday, June 25, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and are invited to a memorial mass of Christian burial on June 28, at 10 a.m., at the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford.  For directions and online memorial see
