Dorothy Collins Whiffen, 85, of Branford, died on July 2 at the Skyview Center in Wallingford. She was the widow of Robert Whiffen and Frederick Collins. Dorothy was born in New Haven on April 5, 1927, daughter of Thomas and Katherine Ross Wilson. She was a 1945 graduate of East Haven High School and had been an administrative assistant for Seward and Monde Accountants in New Haven for many years. She had resided in Branford since 1957, after growing up in East Haven. Dorothy served secretary for the Sunset Beach Association in Branford and was a very active member of the Old Stone Church in East Haven.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas Wilson of Branford. She is also survived by four nephews and two nieces. She was predeceased by her sister, Lois Obel.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9, at 10 a.m., at the Old Stone Church in East Haven. Burial will follow in the Branford Center Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
