Barbara Drennan Sergeant, 85, of Park Rd., North Haven, died on Oct. 8 at the Regency House, Wallingford. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Sergeant. Barbara was born in Saybrook on March 21, 1927, daughter of the late George M. and Eva B. Friedel Drennan. She was raised in Deep River and had worked as a school secretary for the New Haven School System until her retirement.

Barbara was an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies basketball teams and the Boston Red Sox. She had a love of books and kitty cats, and she enjoyed gardening and collecting stamps and post cards. She was a member of the Connecticut Post Card Club and the Friends of the North Haven Library.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Anna Koster and her niece Betty Carol. She was predeceased by her brothers, Aloysus G. and Vincent Drennan, and her sisters, Marcella, Mary, and Veronica Drennan and Eleanor Colton. She is also survived by her good friends Roberta Bruno, Ruth DeNardis, and Teri Rafter, who will miss her.
