    Peter H. Gagliardi, 92, New Haven

    Peter H. Gagliardi, 92, of Prospect Ave., New Haven, died in New Haven on Nov. 20. He was the beloved husband of Clare Pergamalis Gagliardi. Peter was born in New Haven on Dec.15, 1919, son of the late Antonio and Josephine Scandone Gagliardi. He was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and attended DeForest Training School, now DeVry University, graduating in 1940 with a degree in radio, sound and television. Peter served with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was the owner and operator of the former Gag’s State Street Luncheonette and Gag’s Club LaMasque, both in New Haven.

    Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert T. Gagliardi and his wife Nilda of Branford and Peter W. Gagliardi of New Haven; four grandchildren, Robert J. Gagliardi, Cynthia Gagliardi, David Malick, and Diane Malick; his son-in-law, John Malick of Branford; and four siblings, Michael Gagliardi of East Haven, Vincent Gagliardi of New Haven, Mary Solevo of East Haven, and Eugene Gagliardi of Branford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Karen Malick; five brothers, Alfred, Anthony, Joseph, Ralph, and Edward Gagliardi; and two sisters, Margaret Formichella and Julia Funaro.

    His funeral procession will leave the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 8:30 a.m., for a mass of Christian burial at St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven, at 9 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.
