Stacey Jeanne Smith Calcano, 49, of Branford, died on Dec. 23 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.  She was born on April 29, 1963 in Springfield, Massachusetts, daughter of William B., Jr. and Virginia Swancott ("Ginnie") Smith of Branford.  Stacey was the former owner of Airy Balloons in New Haven.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her daughter Carly Calcano of North Haven; her former husband Joseph L. Calcano of North Haven; and her siblings, Rodney W. Smith and his wife Marcy of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jeffrey P Smith of Albany, New York, Brian F Smith and his wife Carolle of Wallingford, Kimberly Morneault and her husband Scott of New Britain, Michael W. Smith of Branford, David P. Smith and his wife Nancy of North Troy, Vermont, and William B. ("Buddy") Smith III and his wife Kata of Middletown. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Sherrie K. Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the W.S.
