    Mary L. Mortali, Branford, formerly of West Haven

    Mary Ludoviconi Mortali, of Branford, formerly of West Haven, died on Jan. 29 at the Branford Hills Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late John Mortali. Mary was born in New Haven on Jan. 19, 1916, daughter of the late Luigi and Ida Battistini Ludoviconi.  She had worked as a seamstress at Reese’s Tie Factory in New Haven before starting her family.  After raising her family, she went back to work at Vine Products in West Haven, retiring when she was 88 years old.  Mary was a resident at Branford Hills for many years and will be greatly missed by the “Circle of Friends” from Ledgewood 2, BHHCC. 

    Her family thanks Dr. Levy and the nurses, aides, and staff at Ledgewood 2, BHHCC, for the care and concern they showed to Mary during the last several years.  They also extend a special thank you to Pat Durante, a longtime family friend, who spent much time with Mary.

    Mary is survived by her children, John Mortali and his wife Laurie of Aiken, South Carolina, and Janet Kaminsky and her husband Ken of Branford; her grandchildren, Kenny Kaminsky and his wife Sonia of Madison, Joel and Keith Kaminsky of Branford, Lisa Herold and her husband Mike, Diane Brewer, and Karen Pitts and her husband Allen, all of Georgia; and her great-grandchildren, Julia and Trey Kaminsky of Madison, Myles and Melissa Herold, and Jon, Chase, and Gabby Brewer, all in Georgia.www.wsclancy.com.

    Her funeral procession will leave the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, on Friday, Feb 1, at 10 a.m. for a mass of Christian burial at St. Mary Church at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to BHHCC Memorial Trust Fund, 189 Alps Rd., Branford, CT 06045.  For directions and online memorial see
