Rosemary Weir (Malloy), 89, of East Haven died on June 16. Born Dec. 1, 1923 in New Haven, she was the daughter of John and Violet (Sharron) Malloy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John P. Weir. Rosemary is survived by her three children Rosemary Grehl (Robert) of East Haven, John “Dutch” Weir Jr. (Theresa) of Wallingford, and Joan Corbett (John) of East Haven; six cherished grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

She was a retired employee of SNET with 20 years of service and a lifetime member of the Pioneers. Rosemary loved living near the ocean; she enjoyed walks and riding her bike. She played cards (Skippo) and did word search puzzles. In her retirement years she spent her winters in Pompano Beach, Florida and summers in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven. The funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on that day at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis Church, Ferry Street, New Haven.
