    Bertha (Stannard) Morgan, 87, Guilford

    Bertha Stannard Morgan, 87, formerly of Guilford, and widow of Edward Thomas Morgan, died Oct. 28, 2012 at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, South Carolina.

    Mrs. Morgan was born Jan. 26, 1925 in New Haven to the late Willis and Gladys Stannard.

    A retired purchasing agent, Mrs. Morgan enjoyed volunteering at Summerville Medical Center and socializing with dear friends of both the Dorchester Senior Citizens Group and the “Elderberry’s” at Saint Theresa The Little Flower Catholic Church, where she was a member.

    She is survived by two daughters; Mary Beth Jordan and her husband Edward and Pamela Stevens-Maxner and her husband Walter, both of Summerville, South Carolina; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Thomas Edward Morgan; a brother, Robert Francis Stannard; a grandson, Robert Francis Brown; and a great-granddaughter, Natasha Stevens.

    A celebration of Mrs. Morgan’s life will be held at Alder Brook Cemetery, Guilford on July 17. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The National Kidney Foundation 508 Hampton Street, Suite 200 Columbia, South Carolina 29201, or the charity of one’s choice.
