    Angela Marie (Maiocco) Cappucci, 87, Formerly of North Haven

    Angela Marie (Maiocco) Cappucci, 87, formerly of North Haven, beloved wife of the late Louis W. Cappucci, M.D., died peacefully July 22 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Saint Raphael Campus.

    Angela was born June 21, 1926 in Bridgeport to the late John and Jane (Pilgoste) Maiocco. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Southern Connecticut State University and a master’s degree from the University of Bridgeport. She worked as a teacher for the Old Lyme school system and later for the Stratford school system.

    Angela was a member of the Farm’s Country Club and the Hospital of Saint Raphael’s Ladies Auxiliary Committee.

    She is survived by her daughters Adele Cappucci and her husband Paul Booth of Maryland, Jane Casagrande and her husband Robert of New Jersey, Janette Suffern and her husband Timothy of New Haven and Marcia Zwiesler and her husband Thomas of Ellington; her grandchildren Matthew and Camille Booth, Connor and William Casagrande, Leah Suffern, Zachary and Jessie Zwiesler; and her brothers Vincent and his wife Frances Maiocco of North Haven, John Maiocco and his wife Claire of Stratford and Kenneth Maiocco and his wife Maxine of Fairfield. She is also survived by 21 loving nieces and nephews, and 49 great-nieces/nephews. Angela was predeceased by a brother, Gabriel, and a sister Joan Cappucci.

    Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday, August 3 at 10:30 a.m.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Hamden at 11 a.m, with interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday, August 2 from 4 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation-CT, 2139 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT.,  06067 or the American Diabetes Foundation, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT., 06067.
